Nato il 25 Aprile 1989 a Lhari (Tibet). L’attuale XIV Dalai Lama Tenzin Gyatso lo ha riconosciuto il 14 maggio 1995, all’età di 6 anni, quale reincarnazione del X Panchen Lama, seconda maggiore carica spirituale del Buddhismo Tibetano. Subito dopo è stato rapito con tutta la famiglia e, nonostante le pressioni delle NU e di organizzazioni Internazionali, di lui si sono perse le tracce. Al suo posto il Governo di Pechino ha nominato un Panchen Lama di regime, Gyaltsen Norbu, figlio di funzionari governativi.DENUNCIAMO il suo RAPIMENO e la sua scomparsa. CHIEDIAMO la sua LIBERAZIONE e quella di tutti i Tibetani prigionieri in Cina. Inoltre CHIEDIAMO a Zhu Weiqun, Vice Ministro dell’United Front Work Department e portavoce ufficiale cinese per gli affari tibetani, di dare informazioni attendibili sul Panchen Lama e sulla sua famiglia.

GEDUN CHOEKYI NYIMA - TIBET’S XI PANCHEN LAMA

THE WORLD’S YOUNGEST POLITICAL PRISONER

Gedhun Choekyi Nyima was born on 25 April 1989 in Lhari near Lhasa.
The present Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso, recognized Gedhun Choekyi Nyima as the reincarnation of the preceding Panchen Lama, the second most important spiritual role in Tibetan Buddhism on 14 May 1995. A few days later he and his entire family were kidnapped. Although there have been numerous requests by the United Nations and international organizations to meet with him, no one has had any contact with him again.
The Chinese government arbitrarily picked another boy to be the new Panchen Lama, Gyaltsen Norbu, the son of Communist Party members.

We are denouncing the kidnapping and disappearance of the Panchen Lama and his family.

We are asking for his release as well as all Tibetan prisoners in China.

Moreover we ask Zhu Weiqun, Vice Minister of the United Front Work Department and Chinese official spokeman for Tibetan Affairs, to give “reliable” informations about the Panchen Lama and his family.
